Ps. 16 v 5-6
David believed there is no good in life outside the will of GOD. David takes this theme to a reoicing climax when he praises GOD for the beautiful inheritance given to him by GOD's loving hand.
''Soli Deo Gloria!'' To GOD be the glory!
We have abundant reasons to be grateful:
- the beauty of our land
- blue heavens
- plants and animals
- towering mountains
- the moving oceans
- fertile valleys
- abundance of minerals
- sunshine and rain
- each other, or we would be lonely souls
When we think of all these things our hearts break out in a song of gratitude to our GOD.
This is why we kneel in thanksgiving before GOD, and confess to the LORD:
''YOU have made known to me the path of life''
Ps. 16 v 11
We commit our family life to GOD because if HE does not build the house, they who build it work in vain.
We recommit our work, relaxation, culture, politics, economy, the entire lives of our people, and place it under HIS blessing.
We give our love anew: to serve our country, to our fellow man and to our GOD.
We serve this love with a pure heart: a love that seeks unity amidst diversity, that seeks morality without hypocrisy, that seeks dignity and not self-righteousness, that seeks truth, not propaganda, that seeks justice, which has not been bought by injustice, that seeks faith.
With such a love, we can live with dignity in the place that GOD assigned to us.
Creator GOD, we thank you for the beautiful part of YOUR kingdom that YOU have assigned to us. Make us worthy to occupy it to YOUR honour and glory. Amen
